M.A. in Mathematics with emphasis in Mathematics Education June 2018 – Advisor: Jonathan Rogness

This master’s degree in mathematics includes 25 graduate level credits in mathematics and 20 graduate level credits in mathematics education, methods, curriculum and instruction. I served as a teaching assistant and lecturer for various university level math courses and participated extensively in field placements in diverse local middle and high school math classrooms.

In addition to standard mathematics degree requirements, I completed a three semester series for secondary mathematics teachers, Mathematics for the Secondary School Curriculum I/II/III, designed by Dr. Hung-Hsi Wu.  Offered through the UC Berkeley Mathematics Department, these courses cover topics in the K-12 curriculum from fractions through calculus with emphasis on mathematical integrity and Common Core compliance.
